Friday February 9th, 2024 9AM-1PM
Please join us for a day of habitat restoration work at Day Creek Conservation Area. We'll be removing invasive species and planting native trees in the gaps that we create. This work will build on past restoration work completed at the site. Please note this event has a maximum of 10 volunteers and we will be carpooling to the final location, so you must be able to attend the entire event.
What to Expect: We'll be removing blackberry, which involves using loppers to cut back canes and shovels to dig out root balls. We'll be following up our blackberry removal by planting native conifers, which involves digging, bending, and kneeling. We'll be working within a quarter-mile of the parking area.
IMPORTANT: You must sign up on our website to officially RSVP. You can do so here https://www.skagitlandtrust.org/pages/volunteer.aspx
If you sign up after 5pm the day before the event, please email Sydney at americorps.engagement@skagitlandtrust.org to confirm and get parking information.
