The PIT Count is an effort to capture information on individuals experiencing homelessness in a community on a single night. The data collected helps inform local and national policies and programs aimed at addressing homelessness. The closer we are to capturing actual need in our community, the increased possibility of funding from federal resources for housing solutions.
We need your help to conduct surveys at specified locations, and to work at regional resource distribution events where we provide much needed resources to our unhoused neighbors in need. We use this opportunity to provide resources to folks that are unhoused. Warm clothing, blankets, hygiene items, essential needs and hot meals.
We will have need for volunteers from Thursday January 29th to Tuesday February 3. Shifts are restricted to four hours to limit time spent in the cold (but please feel free to assist on multiple days!)
Volunteers will meet at location for each shift and determinations will be made on how each volunteer can assist. Locations to meet will be determined at a late date once all events have been confirmed.
Locations: Skagit West County ( Anacortes, Bow, LaConner), Mount Vernon/Burlington, Skagit East County ( Sedro-Woolley, Concrete, Hamilton, Marblemount)
