                                We are more than a shelter. We have 9 private apartments that are fully furnished. We serve single women or families with children. We provide case management services to help clients identify barriers and set short and long-term goals and achieve self-sufficiency by the end of our 60-90 day program.
We also have a Transitional shelter program where clients that we have build a relationship with in our "Interim Program" might have an option for up to 2 years of income based housing. This program provides some Case management and support from AFC Staff. There are 9 beautifully furnished apartments in that program.
We are proud of our new "Launch Apartments" which houses 20 permanent housing units. Residents income qualify at 50% a.m.i.
Within two weeks in our program clients are required to secure full-time employment of find a volunteer site to build employable skills and network while they continue to seek employment. While our program helps clients achieve a better future, we also believe in helping clients heal from their past. We contract with mental health therapists and provide a minimum of 5 visits for every adult and child. The staff and volunteers provide a weekly life skills class adapted to serve the family's needs. The topics include, personal budgeting and saving, property lease management, resume writing, mock job interviews and self care.
