Anacortes Family Center

Who We Are

We are more than a shelter.  We have 9 private apartments that are fully furnished.  We serve single women or families with children.  We provide case management services to help clients identify barriers and set short and long-term goals and achieve self-sufficiency by the end of our 60-90 day program.

We also have a Transitional shelter program where clients that we have build a relationship with in our "Interim Program" might have an option for up to 2 years of income based housing.  This program provides some Case management and support from AFC Staff.   There are 9 beautifully furnished apartments in that program.

We are proud of our new "Launch Apartments" which houses 20 permanent housing units.  Residents income qualify at 50% a.m.i.

What We Do

Within two weeks in our program clients are required to secure full-time employment of find a volunteer site to build employable skills and network while they continue to seek employment.  While our program helps clients achieve a better future, we also believe in helping clients heal from their past.  We contract with mental health therapists and provide a minimum of 5 visits for every adult and child.  The staff and volunteers provide a weekly life skills class adapted to serve the family's needs.  The topics include, personal budgeting and saving, property lease management, resume writing, mock job interviews and self care.
