Welcome Home Skagit
We are a non-profit aligned with Angels for Angels, a 501-c3 dedicated to helping others through education and advocacy, as well as transitional housing services.
Welcome Home Skagit was formed to help develop solutions to the housing crisis in Skagit County, by working with public and private agencies to identify solutions and make them accessible to those who need them most.
We work to educate the community on the causes, nature, and extent of homelessness, as well as its impact and current costs to the community, thereby building public awareness and support for community-based solutions.
We also empower those experiencing or facing homelessness with advocacy, peer-to-peer mentoring, care management, and supported employment services to bring hope from hopelessness, restore dignity, improve stability, and return value to their lives and the community.
We are creating a five-part spectrum for transitioning those experiencing or facing homelessness to stable community living where no such system currently exists. The five phases include:
1) distribution of comfort kits
2) drop-in centers
3) a year-round Low-Barrier Shelter
4) short-term transitional housing
5) transition to permanent affordable housing.
