We are looking for volunteers to support students during our Reading & Homework Hour. Volunteers will spend about 30 minutes reading with a small group of students, followed by 20 minutes assisting them with their homework and academics. Opportunities are available Mon-Fri to work with both our K-2nd-grade and 3rd-5th-grade classes.

We are seeking volunteers to assist during our Enrichment Hour on Wednesdays from 3:00 pm - 4:30 pm. Volunteers will help support hands-on activities, creating fun and engaging learning experiences. Opportunities are available in both our K-2nd-grade and 3rd-5th-grade classes.

The Children of the Valley Bike Club is looking for support in building bikes and routine maintenance on our fleet! Since the bikes the students earn do not arrive assembled, we are looking for support in unboxing and building them up. We are also looking for bike mechanics who are interested in helping teach the lesson where students unbox and build bikes during club time. This is a perfect opportunity for any person looking for wrenching experience to land that job in the bike industry or for former bike mechanics looking to give back to the community and help get more kids on bikes.

As a ride assistant, you will join the bike club for the most fun part of the day: riding! We are looking for adults who feel confident riding on the roads and trails of Skagit County to join our rides to help teach our students the ways of the roads. In this role, you will help students solve minor issues, like adjusting their seat height, serve as an extra set of eyes while riding to spot safety issues, such as loose shoelaces, and have a blast while spreading the joy of bike riding.

Our students are scholars! The first 45 minutes of the bike club are dedicated to helping students complete their homework or to helping them improve their academic skills. As a tutor, you would work with a student to increase their confidence in academics and give them that extra support they need to be successful in the classroom. No bike skills necessary!
