Turn your experience into support. Be the voice that helps families feel heard, understood, and less alone.
Join our NAMI Family Support Group as a meeting leader. At NAMI Skagit, we believe that each volunteer is a gift, and we're looking for compassionate volunteers to share it. As a family support group facilitator, you'll help lead our monthly NAMI Family Support Group — a safe, confidential space where family and friends supporting a loved one with mental health conditions come together to share, connect, and find strength in one another.
What we’re looking for:
Someone who provides a safe, welcoming space for
families and loved ones to share experiences, find hope, and connect with
others who understand. Participants gain support, build coping skills, discover
strength through shared experiences, and learn to let go of guilt while
recognizing that mental health conditions are no one's fault. Together,
families find understanding, encouragement, and a sense of community.
What you'll help create:
A judgment-free space where families and friends gain insights
from the challenges and successes of peers on a similar journey as you. You are
not alone.
No professional experience required - just compassion, empathy, and passion for helping others. All volunteer leaders must be 18+ and will complete training, interviews, and background checks.
