Volunteers will help provide a warm and friendly environment and assist caregivers with any needed tasks.
Responsibilities:
- Interact patients and provide them assistance in a friendly and positive manner
- Notify staff of patient availability, problems, needs, questions or concerns
- Help unit staff with a variety of tasks
Qualifications:
- Possess strong verbal communication skills
- Show a friendly, positive manner and enjoy contact with individuals of all backgrounds
- Demonstrate a willingness to keep current with hospital and clinic happenings
- Responsible, outgoing and will to take initiative
- Experience working, volunteering or recreating in a healthcare setting a plus
- Must participate in required initial and updated training
- Ability to walk, bend and carry up to 10 pounds unaided
- Ability to operate and transport patients in a wheelchair
