Volunteer: Distribution Volunteer - Helping Hands Food BankDistribution set-up starts two hours before distribution; these volunteers help stock the fridge, freezer, and shelves with food. This role includes standing, walking, and lifting 20-50 lbs. Distribution check-in starts at least 15 minutes before distribution; these volunteers are given the necessary tools and training required to complete the role before starting. Helping Hands appreciates check-in volunteers who are able to stay the entire distribution and can commit to the role weekly, however we can be flexible and appreciate any help volunteers are willing to provide! This role can be seated or standing, really up to the volunteer. Distribution support starts at least 15 minutes before distribution; these volunteers regulate check-in lines, available carts for participants, and re-stocking empty shelves. Help participants carry food to their vehicles when needed, and answer questions when asked. This role can be seated or standing. This role includes standing, walking, and lifting 20-50 lbs. Distribution check-in starts at least 15 minutes before distribution; these volunteers are given the necessary tools and training required to complete the role before starting. Helping Hands appreciates check-in volunteers who are able to stay the entire distribution and can commit to the role weekly, however we can be flexible and appreciate any help volunteers are willing to provide! This role can be seated or standing, really up to the volunteer. Distribution support starts at least 15 minutes before distribution; these volunteers regulate check-in lines, available carts for participants, and re-stocking empty shelves. Help participants carry food to their vehicles when needed, and answer questions when asked. This role can be seated or standing. Engage in a meaningful group activity by holding a donation drive for critical needs resources! The Street Outreach Program team walks alongside people, building trust and relationships until they are ready to opt into recovery programs and housing. Services provided include wound care, medication management, referrals to specialists, and most importantly, building trust and relationships with our Street Outreach Team, who walk alongside people until they are ready to opt into recovery programs and housing. The program gives out approximately 40 first aid kits per month, and is looking for groups or individuals interested in collecting items and putting together first aid kits.
