Description

Volunteer at the 23rd Annual Skagit Valley Highland Games!

Join a fun team of volunteers from our community this year at the Skagit Valley Highland Games! We are looking for help in a range of areas from volunteers with a variety of skills and abilities. The complexity of organizing and promoting a successful community event such as The Skagit Valley Highland Games is significant, and it takes tremendous effort on the part of many, many volunteers, sponsors and community members. As a thank you for your help, volunteers receive a complimentary Family Weekend Pass, which provides free admission for four people (family or friends) both Saturday and Sunday.

To make the Highland Games possible, we need volunteers to help in a variety of positions before, during, and after the Games. For a description of each area, please visit www.celticarts.org.

Volunteer areas include:

Athletics Scorekeeping Volunteer
Beer & Whisky Volunteer
Booth Sitting Volunteer Final
Gate Attendant Volunteer
Membership & Merchandise Sales Volunteer
Parking Lot Attendant Volunteer
Special Ops Volunteer
Parking Lot Special Ops Volunteer

Volunteer shifts are three hours in length with morning, afternoon, and evening shifts available. Those who are interested in volunteering for more than three hours can indicate their availability on the Volunteer Registration Form. Volunteers should arrive ten minutes before the beginning of their shift. Volunteer coordinators will provide information and training during shift changes. We ask that volunteers please be prompt in arriving for their shifts, being mindful of the schedules of other incoming and outgoing volunteers. Please note that three-hour shifts do not include break times and that in order to receive the Family Weekend Pass free of charge, volunteers must complete all hours of their shift.

Orientation: There is a mandatory volunteer orientation meeting on Thursday, July 6th at Edgewater Park in the Beer Garden from 6 pm to 6:45 pm. We will provide a brief, general orientation to volunteering at the Games, hand out free passes for volunteer services, and offer Games t-shirts at our discounted volunteer rate (40% off retail prices). Volunteers may have the opportunity to meet their area supervisor and ask any questions.

Questions: Please contact the Celtic Arts Foundation at 360-416-4934 or events@celticarts.org for more information about volunteering at the Skagit Valley Highland Games.
